I mentioned recently that Harley’s new special interest subject is aircraft.
All I have heard about over the last week is about “Stealth bomber”s ( B-2 bomber) and their radar-absorbent surfaces.
Or the differences between a passenger jet and a business jet.
He is also particularly interested in jump jets as well.
Thankfully we are still in the early days of this “obsession” so we are not tired of hearing about aircraft yet!
Truth be known, I’m ecstatic that the superhero phase has eased off. At least now the interest has moved to something that actually exists!
He has informed me that he is going to pilot a stealth bomber when he grows up and I told him that there are no stealth bombers in Australia but he didn’t care!
He will find a way if he is still that way inclined in 15 years!
In other news, I took Lucas to an early intervention learning centre yesterday for an assessment and I learned some very valuable things!
I already knew that he has low muscle tone because his OT has been working on it with him for a little while. The first indicator that she noticed was the ”W” sitting that he often does .
But……yesterday I was told that it might be a possible reason for the delay in him becoming toilet trained!
I have already successfully trained 2 children – a girl AND a boy and both and before the age of 3 so it’s not that I’m a lazy parent…..but this child always seemed to have NO idea that he needed to go and still didn’t seem to notice after he’d gone in his pants!
I have seen people when we are out looking at his nappy sticking out over the waistband of his jeans and then they turn to me and ask “How old is he again?
And I KNOW what they are really asking! But I have had to learn to ignore that!
Onwards and Upwards , Always MORE to learn!

learn something new everyday
Which part?
LOL
Don’t let him W sit – he’ll have joint troubles the rest of his life! I know a couple of adults who used to W sit and they are in constant pain now. If the therapist didn’t think to tell you, doctors advise not letting kids sit that way because it’s so damaging.
yep, the therapists have been great at teaching me how to get him to stop him doing that by making him sit on a cushion, a small chair or a beanbag.
They also warned me about the possible effects of not stopping it ASAP
